Night terrors

April 04, 2016 Kate Saunders

TIP OF THE WEEK!

There are a whole raft of possible causes of Night Terrors in children including; Undiagnosed allergies, genetics and most commonly overtiredness. However one other cause can be a drop in blood glucose. If you give your child a banana right before bed this can help regulate the blood sugar overnight and as a bonus it is a food that contains tryptophan (precursor to melatonin), B vitamins and muscle relaxants (magnesium and potassium). Practically a sleeping pill in a banana peel.
